Fractal Tune Smi thy Midi clips to view as a score
Back to: Fractal Tune Smithy home page | Sound clips
If you want to look at the Midi files as a "score" in a program such as Noteworthy Composer , you will need all notes for a part played on the same MIDI channel.
FTS changes channels to bend notes into tune for the scales, but you can switch this option off, and these clips have been made in that way.
This affects the sound of the MIDI clips a little. When a note is followed by another in the same channel with a new pitch bend, it needs to be cut off, so some of the sustained notes may be shorter than in the originals.
Also many notes continue to reverberate for a short while when the note proper ends, and these need to be cut off immediately if followed by a pitch bend, or you will hear pitch bent reverberations. This abrupt cut off can sometimes cause a click like effect, depending on the voice etc, which you may notice in quieter pasages.
If you view these MIDI clips in a MIDI score viewer, you'll see the nearest twelve tone notes on the score, which will give some idea of what the melody lines are in the various parts. However, don't expect the bar lines to begin at the start of a seed, or at the start of a note even, and your score viewer may show some parts out of sync. if they are exceedingly fast.
You can download the free Noteworthy Player, from Noteworthy Composer , which lets you see a MIDI file as a score.
